ODG and AxonVR Got Fundings, Chinese Capital Involved


Recently, San Fransico American Military Techonology ODG announced the completion of 58 million USD A round financing and the company will use this investment to “enhance current production capacity”, “integrate new product line” and get prepared for the January International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).


According to UploadVR, the participants of ODG financing includes Shenzhen O-Film Tech Co.,Ltd, Shenyang Wanfund Urban Investment & Development Co., Ltd, Twenty-First century Fox, Inc and some individual investors.

Kevin Kelly Speech: The Inevitable

IMAX and GOME’s Plan for VR Movie Cinema in China

IMAX and GOME both has their BIG plan for VR Cinema in China market.


In the past few weeks, IMAX has revealed multiple layouts in VR field. Around mid-October, IMAX announced its partnership with the largest European chained cinema. They will set up an IMAX VR experience center in Manchester before year end and users can play games, watch movies and experience VR interaction in this center. Around mid-November, IMAX announced a 50million USD investment fund they set up with several other companies and it will be mainly used for the promotion of VR technology in IMAX movies and games.

3Glasses Joins Microsoft’s VR Platform

Dec.8, in WinHEC conference in ShenZhen, Microsoft announced that 3Glasses will join their VR platform, as one of the VR hardware provider.

Early this year, Microsoft that the Windows 10 VR headset will be built by Dell, Asus and Lenovo, and the price will be around $300 USD. Now with 3Glasses join the force to further expand the Windows VR headset product line.


3Glasses has been a renowned VR hardware company in China. They just got a $10M investment from O-film. 

3Glasses’s latest VR headset is 3Glasses S1 Blubur, which features 2K display and 120HZ refresh rate. It also comes with a pair of Wand, which is like HTC Vive.


Microsoft to Sell Hololens in China in Early 2017

In today’s WinHEC conference in ShenZhen, China. Microsoft announced that Hololens will be in retail in China early 2017. The price will be around 22k RMB (3200USD).

Before that, Hololens is only sold in US, Canada, and planning to release in Japan and several Europe countries next year. Chinese developers and customers used to rely on dealers to get Hololens. And the price is quite high on Taobao(Chinese version of Ebay) now, more than 4000USD.


ShenZhen Plan to Build ShenZhen(BaoAn) VR Industrial Park

ShenZhen already hosts 1/3 of all VR companies in China. A new VR Industial Park in BaoAn is in planning to further stimulate the VR industry.

ShenZhen becomes a more and more important city for VR industry as it has successful  hosted China High-Tech Fair and National Mass Innovation & Entrepreneurship Week and its government has corporated with HTC Vive to set up the 10billion RMB fund. Also, it is home to over 1/3 of all VR companies in China.

It is said that at the first council meeting of Shenzhen VR Industry Federation, they are planning to build a ShenZhen (BaoAn) VR Industrial Park in order to further stimulate the VR industry’s aggregation and development.
